MystudiesatOhioStateUniversityenabledmetoacquireadeepunderstandingofeconomics,finance,andaccounting.ItalsogavemeanopportunitytolearnaboutAmericanfinancialsystemsandoperations.TheAmericansubprimemortgagecrisiswhichcausedaFinancialTsunamibroughtaboutwholenewschoolsofthoughtregardingtheglobaleconomy.Irealizedthatthereisexcessivegovernmentinterventioninresourceallocation,especiallywithregardstoloaninvestmentandloanprojects.Nowadays,Americanfinancialregulationsaretransformingfrominstitutionallybasedandfunctionaltoobjectives-based.Thisisgivingnewideastoothercountriesastohowtheycouldreform.

Ididnotstartthinkingabouttheseissuesinanoffhandedmanner.IhavebeenindeepthoughtastothefinancialsystemsusedinChinesevillagesforseveralyears.Chinausesseparatedfinancialsupervision,whichhascreatedmanyproblemsincludingrepeatedsupervision,highcost,andlackofaneffectivecoordinationmechanism.Farmersfinditdifficulttotakeoutloanscreatingadelayineconomicdevelopment.Ifthissituationisnotimproved,morethan60%offarmerswillbeunabletoliftthemselvesoutofpoverty,andtherewillbenosocialjustice.

IplantostudyforPh.D.inBiochemistryatCaseWesternReserveUniversitywithspecialinterestsinmetabolism,macromolecularsynthesis,andproteincrystalgrowth.Ihavehadplentifulpreparations.First,whenbeinganundergraduateintheDepartmentofChemicalEngineeringatTsinghuaUniversity,Igotveryextensiveandintensiveeducation.Itookmanycoursesonchemistryandtherelatedsubjects,andearnedhighscoresformostofthem.Second,mymajor,Polymer,canbeputintogooduseinBiochemistryprogramsbecausePolymeriscloselyrelatedwithbiologicalMacromolecule.Third,Ihaveworkingexperiencethatenrichesmytheoryandlaboratoryskills.
